Grounding Africa and Its Global Diaspora Through Data
DATA. MOVEMENT. LIBERATION.
The State of the Africa Diaspora Report is the first comprehensive, cross-continental study documenting the impact, influence, and lived experiences of the African diaspora globally and Africans across the African continent.
More than a policy document, the report serves as a foundational record of who the diaspora is becoming in this era of return, reconnection, investment, and cultural exchange. Through data, storytelling, research, and lived experience, the report examines the diaspora’s role in shaping business, migration, identity, development, citizenship, innovation, and community across Africa.
It is both a reflection of a global people in motion and a framework for deeper conversations about belonging, opportunity, and the future of Pan-African engagement.
The report will officially launch on June 19, 2026, in recognition of Juneteenth. This date connects the work to the long Black freedom struggle, emancipation, memory, repair, and the ongoing evolution of African-descended people globally.
The launch represents more than the release of a publication; it marks the beginning of a larger dialogue about the evolving relationship between Africa and its global diaspora.
As movement between the continent and the diaspora continues to grow, the State of the Diaspora Report seeks to document this moment in history while helping to shape the conversations, policies, and partnerships that will define the future.
